BioDuring the early stages of Stuck Between Stations, director Brady Kiernan listened incessantly to Grant Cutler's synth-pop project Lookbook. So when Kiernan asked him to compose an original score for the film, Cutler drew from the Lookbook sound, but used his experimental process to create something entirely new. Inspired by the film's story, setting, and cinematography, Cutler developed soundscapes that MPR's film critic Stephanie Curtiscalled "ambient beautiful stuff," and encouraged viewers to hear on big speakers.
The score also marks the beginning of a musical relationship between Cutler and Aby Wolf, whose vocals add an etherial layer to the atmospheric orchestration.
Popdose's Scott Malchus wrote, "The music of Grant Cutler...added emotion to every scene and brought a dreaminess to the late escapade of Casper and Becky."
